I am thrilled to announce that my book, Workplace Safe Havens, will be published by HarperCollins in February 2021.
Here’s the quick pitch summary for it: The #MeToomovement taught us that survivors should be able to speak up and share their stories, but it didn’t teach us as a society how to hear those stories in a respectful and ultimately healing way. Most of us are not very good at that, not because we don’t care, but because of the way trauma impacts the brain, both of the speaker and of the listener. Aimed at managers in the #MeToo era, Workplace Safe Havens teaches the five things we should do in that interaction to not make it worse, hopefully make it better, and not get our organizations in trouble. This helps us as listeners, helps our organizations, and most importantly helps the survivors who share their stories with us.
If you’re looking for ways to support the book, preorders are hugely important to a book’s ultimate success. I’ll post once it’s available for that. Also, if you want to host a book party (I’m willing to travel!), or if you know somebody who might want to do an interview for a podcast or article, those are all great ways to get out the word. I want to do everything I can to help share this message with the world, so I’ll take any help I can get!
